Location Library, Scouting and Management for Features, TV Drama, Commercials and Stills
Location X is a location company with a different slant: a collection of Location Managers who pool decades of experience and specialist knowledge to provide an exceptional service.
We provide a location scouting and location management service to film, TV, commercials & stills production. Between us, we have worked in most countries, under most conditions and we have one of the most extensive networks of location and information sources in the UK and Europe. We can simply set up locations, scout & manage locations or (for stills & smaller productions) production manage the entire shoot.
We understand the importance of consistency, honesty, professionalism and developing long term relationships with our clients. Whatever happens on location is our responsibility, even if it’s not our fault!
Collectively, we have covered well over 1000 commercials, 600 stills shoots, 50 TV dramas and over 60 Features. We cannot eliminate all location risks on your production, but we can reduce them to an absolute minimum. We know the classic locations and we know where to look effectively for most others. We are used to working strictly within budget and schedule constraints.
The Location X library shares content with the Location Works library and each is free to browse and free to contribute to. If you are pushed for time, we can put together a ‘private collection’ of locations for a specific job or pitch, for free - in minutes. You can print off as many location images as you choose and we can update your collection in response to your email or phone feedback within seconds.
In line with the competition, we charge the location owner a percentage of the location fee. The production pays a £300+vat location library fee for the first location used and up to £100+vat for each subsequent location used on the same job.
As with most location libraries, only a small percentage of the locations available are on the public web site. If you can’t find what you are looking for, give us a call or email; we may be able to upload it quickly. We may already have it on the site as a location ‘hidden’ for the location’s security.
